About the log slices:
A couple of years ago, we realized a few trees in our yard were encroaching the house. This particular tree was small enough to safely take ourselves with a saw and rope. Upon cutting, the tree revealed nature's amazing majesty. Although the dark brown figure extended less than two feet up the trunk, I was able to cut seven pieces and made the first for a family in Costa Rica with whom my oldest daughter was living while studying there. Since then, I've decided to try to spread them to different parts of the world. The 2nd piece now resides in my birth state of Rhode Island. Wherever you are, if you happen to see one of these, ask to look at the bottom inscription and drop me a note to let me know where it is.
