About Sutton Woodworking

Hello,

My name is Bill and after my family, working with wood is my passion.

I’ll build just about anything, but I especially enjoy focusing on pieces that will bring out ingenuity and nature’s true beauty.

Wood is an amazing part of nature and, like a different sunrise each day, no two pieces are exactly alike and I’m always on the hunt for new and interesting  specimens. Where some may see a craggy, twisted branch, I see potential for a one-of-a-kind item.  At times, it's the wood that determines what I may build from it...a  table or chair, an abstract piece of art...

I’m self-taught along with being lucky enough to have inherited some innate skills from my grandfathers and, especially, my father, a master machinist and toolmaker all his life. To this day, when someone brings him a broken part to be fixed, if the item is too far gone, he’ll just go into his shop and build a new piece. Many times, even better than the original!

When given the opportunity, I enjoy using heirloom wood which may have blown over in a storm or reclaimed during a property renovation and will always do my best to ensure customer satisfaction.

Custom commissions are always welcome.

All items proudly handcrafted in the U.S.A.
